WALTHAM, Mass. - 19 June 2007 - Lionbridge Technologies, Inc., (Nasdaq: LIOX), today announced that it was chosen as one of the top 50 global outsourcing providers in a survey of over 18,000 business leaders by Brown-Wilson Group, authors of “The Black Book of Outsourcing” that ranks the top outsourcing firms globally. More than 1,400 vendors qualified for the ranking. Lionbridge was recognised among the top 50 vendors for its expert software testing as well as its strong management team, rich outsourcing experience, and a growth focus in BPO with onshore, nearshore and offshore options. This builds upon Lionbridge’s ranking as the #1 outsourced testing provider in a report published by Brown-Wilson Group in February 2007.

All companies in the Top 50 Best Managed Outsourcing Vendors report were required to demonstrate consistent strength in four survey areas: human capital performance, C-level commitment, corporate direction, and leadership impact, with each area weighted for significance. A total of 26 criteria were presented for feedback based upon the four survey areas.
In the report, it was found that C-Level commitment is the most crucial area in outsourcing initiatives. Without a strong team of champions at the top of a company, no "best managed" status or management improvement initiative can have long-term success. Also, after the initial savings rush, a major shift in client satisfaction is changing from “cheaper and faster” to “better and more supportive innovations” from their outsourcing partner.
