Business Development Director – UK
Globalisation, Localisation and Translation
Reports to: Sales Director, United Kingdom
Location: SE England – Home or Office based (Luton)
We're looking for a Business Development Director (BDD) to join our sales team. The ideal candidate is a successful sales executive with consultative sales experience in the Localisation, Information Technology or eLearning Content Development fields. Individuals coming into this role will concentrate on generating new business from markets within the UK.
Summary
The BDD will be responsible for identifying prospects, developing opportunities, and closing new business through cold calling, referrals and those arising from Lionbridge marketing initiatives. The Sales Executive must be an effective listener to capture and analyse client requirements and to translate those into a proposal. The individual must be able to work in a team environment with service delivery leads across the globe to bring the sales effort to closure.
Required Skills/Background
Please review these requirements carefully:
- A minimum of 5 years of consultative selling experience
- Experience must include sales successes to corporate accounts at the FT 250 level
- Must be comfortable working at senior executive contact levels.
- Able to develop sales strategies, value/benefit analysis, ROI analysis.
- Strong knowledge and prior experience in Localisation/Consulting/Outsourcing Services sales a plus.
- Must have strong team leadership skills, yet able to generate individual high level of sustained sales activity.
- Must have a proven record of increasingly higher levels of sales success.
- Must be clearly able to self-motivate and self-direct on a daily basis and able to operate in a remote environment.
- Strong sales and account management skills, as well as excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Understanding of localisation industry dynamics, trends, competition and regulations.
- Strong organisation skills as well as knowledge of software and systems for the planning and forecasting and sales opportunities.
- Strong interpersonal skills along with a high level of professionalism necessary to build customer confidence and loyalty.
- Be highly motivated to grow.
- Fluency in a second European language is preferable.
Education
A Bachelors degree is required.
