Lionbridge Announces the Retirement of Industry Veteran Brian Kelly as Chief Operating Officer for Europe
Kelly Assumes the Role of Non-Executive Chairman for Lionbridge Ireland
WALTHAM, Mass. — May 25, 2006 — Lionbridge Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: LIOX) today announced that Brian Kelly is retiring as Chief Operating Officer of Europe after serving more than 20 years in the localization industry. As European leader for Lionbridge, Kelly played a key role in Lionbridge's business combination with BGS and led the Company's integration efforts in Europe since Lionbridge acquired BGS in 2005.
Kelly will remain at Lionbridge as non-executive Chairman of Lionbridge Ireland and part time European consultant where he will continue to actively interact with key customers, speak at industry events, consult and advise Lionbridge management. The management structure that Kelly architected in Europe will remain in place with regional operational managers now reporting to Satish Maripuri who will assume the role of Lionbridge Chief Operational Officer, Worldwide.

Prior to Lionbridge's acquisition of BGS, Kelly was senior vice president of Europe for BGS and General Manager of Translations Services in Europe for Berlitz GlobalNET, which was acquired by BGS in 2002. Kelly started his career at Data General and Apple Computer before founding Softrans International Ltd., an Irish localization company.
"When I started a small firm called Softtrans 25 years ago in Ireland to manage translations, I never imagined that I would one day be retiring from a $400 million global company," said Kelly.
