Lionbridge Announces India Expansion in Chennai
New Solution Center Meets Growing Demand for Global Development and Testing Services
Waltham, Mass. — April 06, 2005 — Lionbridge Technologies (Nasdaq: LIOX), today announced that it will expand its offshore operations with the addition of a new solution center in Chennai, India. Lionbridge Chennai will initially host approximately 200 developers, test engineers, and project managers with plans for additional expansion as client activities scale. The solution center will also include a comprehensive testing lab for Lionbridge's VeriTest testing division, which provides independent quality assurance and software testing services to enterprise organizations worldwide. The solution center will enable Lionbridge and VeriTest to meet increasing demand for cost-efficient application development, content development and testing solutions.
The new solution center in Chennai builds on the success of the Company's Mumbai, India operation which includes approximately 1,000 highly skilled engineering and content development professionals with expertise in application development and eLearning courseware solutions. The addition of Lionbridge Chennai enhances Lionbridge's global outsourcing services, which combine onsite program management with cost-effective delivery resources throughout the world.
