Maripuri Honored by IndUS Business Journal and NRI Institute for Outstanding Global Leadership and Contributions to the Indian Community

WALTHAM, Mass. – October 2, 2007 – Lionbridge Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: LIOX) today announced that Chief Operating Officer Satish Maripuri is being recognized for his achievements by both the IndUS Business Journal and NRI Institute. Mr. Maripuri, who leads Lionbridge’s global operations in 26 countries, was named “2007 Business Person of the Year” by the IndUS Business Journal, a national newspaper that showcases South Asian/Asian Indian professionals and entrepreneurs in the United States. Mr. Maripuri is also a recipient of a “Pride of India” award from the NRI Institute, an NGO organized to keep Non-Resident Indians well informed about socio-political, socio-economic, and cultural events in India. Both awards recognize Mr. Maripuri’s extensive contributions to growing global operations at Lionbridge, to the Indian community, and to global business at large.

“Satish Maripuri exemplifies what it means to be a successful global executive,” said Martin Desmarais, editor of IndUS Business Journal. “He stands as a model for other Indian expatriates coming to the U.S. and looking to excel in the business world. His demonstrated global leadership skills and continued support for the Indian community made him a natural choice as our Business Person of the Year.”

Since joining the company in 2003, Mr. Maripuri has led worldwide operations for Lionbridge, helping to build the company into the world’s largest provider of translation and globalization services. He has worked closely with Lionbridge’s leadership to drive revenue growth from $160 million to $420 million between 2004 and 2007. Mr. Maripuri has been instrumental in developing cross-cultural teams and expanding Lionbridge’s global execution capabilities.

“It is the goal of the Pride of India award to honor people of Indian origin who achieve success and brilliance in different walks of life,” said Rasik H. Patel, International Chairman, NRI Institute. “Satish Maripuri serves as a perfect example of such an individual, having demonstrated an ability to view the business landscape with a global perspective, underscored by an understanding of socio-economic trends not only in India but across Asia and Europe as well.”

Mr. Maripuri was presented with his NRI award at a gala dinner on Friday, September 28, in Washington, D.C. A profile of Mr. Maripuri announcing his being named “2007 Business Person of the Year” by IndUS Business Journal appears in a special supplement to the newspaper on October 1, 2007.

“Satish has been an invaluable colleague as we’ve built Lionbridge into the world-class organization it is today,” said Rory Cowan, CEO of Lionbridge. “His 21 years of international experience have given him the ability to take a holistic view of the global markets, in both the developed and developing economies where we operate. Satish is also instrumental in ensuring that our global teams provide superior customer service from our delivery centers in 26 countries.”

Mr. Maripuri earned an M.S in Computer Engineering from Northeastern University in Boston, MA and a B.S in Mechanical Engineering from Andhra University in Vizag, India. In his personal time, he contributes to various causes such as the American Red Cross, brain tumor and breast cancer research, and the American Diabetes Association.
