Lionbridge Freeway Translation Management Takes Top Spot in Common Sense Advisory Ranking of Translation Systems

WALTHAM, Mass. – March 8 2007 – Lionbridge Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: LIOX) today announced that Freeway™, its free, web-based translation management platform, earned a top score in the comprehensive ranking of translation management systems by independent research firm Common Sense Advisory. The report, titled “Translation Management System Scorecards,” ranked the top translation software solutions available across numerous categories to determine completeness of offering. Freeway scored highly in all areas and matched the highest composite score among all system scorecards.

“While Freeway continues to surpass our internal performance targets, this third-party recognition of the completeness of our platform, after just 9 months, validates our web-based approach that allows for rapid updates and continuous innovation,” said Dmitry Grenader, Director of Technical Solutions, Lionbridge. “The more than 175 Lionbridge clients that have adopted Freeway as their preferred translation management platform recognize the value of our compelling combination of management tools, and the ability to deploy and scale immediately, in an easy-to-use package.”

Freeway matched the highest score among the “Collaborative Workbench” systems in each of the three key categories: Business Management, Process Management, and Language Management. Collaborative Workbenches are systems that enable individual activities within a virtual team environment, including translating, editing, reviewing, approving, desktop publishing, and QAing. Freeway manages these functions and more from a single instance of code that allows for frequent and global feature updates, and enables the acceleration of worldwide cross-enterprise deployments. Its highly scalable architecture provides unmatched reliability for thousands of concurrent users.

According to the report, “Lionbridge, the largest language services company, leveraged its access to capital markets to assemble the cash flow and intellectual property needed to support a formidable technology backbone. It makes this platform available to clients for free in a “Software as a Service” (SaaS) model.” It goes on to note that implementation time can be as short as two to three days and that “Freeway’s real-time TM sharing and integrated glossaries gave the industry its first collaborative workbench. Its online client review tool offers clients a sophisticated markup capability fully imbedded in the translation workflow. Customer portal interfaces and server access to Freeway are both available in 17 languages.” Access the full report on the Common Sense Advisory web site at http://www.commonsenseadvisory.com.
