(Nasdaq: LIOX), today announced its participation in OASIS (Organization for the Advancement of Structured Information Standards), a vendor-neutral XML interoperability consortium. As an OASIS member, Lionbridge joins industry leaders such as Accenture, BEA Systems, BMC Software, Boeing Commercial Airplanes, Documentum, IBM, Microsoft, SAP AG and Sun Microsystems in an effort to advance collaboration, convergence and adoption of structured information standards that permit system interoperability.
Lionbridge will actively participate in the future development of XML as it relates to globalization. By promoting the use of XML applications such as XLIFF (XML Localization Interchange File Format), Lionbridge will help move the globalization industry to the next level of cost reduction and enhanced quality. Lionbridge will be represented by its chief technology officer, Jonathan Clark.
