WALTHAM, Mass., July 10, 2002 – Lionbridge Technologies (Nasdaq: LIOX), today announced that its VeriTest division has expanded its testing operations in Beijing, China. The expanded China operations strengthen VeriTest's industry-leading software testing and certification services, which combine "onshore" project management, with cost-effective "near shore" testing operations in Ballina, Ireland and "offshore" testing in Beijing, China.

The Beijing office of VeriTest includes a highly qualified, bilingual engineering team with expertise in software, hardware and wireless testing and will provide network, web, and interoperability testing for the Microsoft, Oracle, and Novell platforms; embedded/real-time systems validation; and standards-based compliance testing such as the 802.11b wireless protocol. To meet increasing demand, the VeriTest Beijing team will expand to more than 100 people by the end of 2002.
