Stratus and VeriTest Achieve Milestone for "Verified by VeriTest" Program - 50 Applications Pass Certification

VeriTest Program Ensures Compatibility and Reliability of Third-Party Applications on Stratus® ftServer™ Platform

WALTHAM, Mass. and MAYNARD, Mass — May 21, 2002 — VeriTest, the testing division of Lionbridge Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: LIOX) and Stratus Technologies, Inc., maker of the world's most reliable servers, today announced that the Verified by VeriTest program for the Stratus® ftServer™ family has verified over 50 Microsoft® Windows® 2000-based applications for compatibility.

The Verified by VeriTest program gives Stratus' customers assurance that third-party applications are compatible and reliable when running on the Stratus ftServer platforms. Recent products to earn this designation include Microsoft's Content Management Server, Oracle 9i Database Enterprise Edition, and Symantec Enterprise Firewall v6.5.

"We developed this valuable logo program with VeriTest to help us establish a wide base of proven compatible products on the ftServer family as it first came to market last year," said Jon Olson, Vice President of Worldwide Marketing, Stratus Technologies. "Then, as now, these servers represent an entirely new category of product. It's important to us that our customers can easily and confidently identify and implement pre-verified solutions on these servers."

VeriTest creates Verified by VeriTest programs by working with platform sponsors to define an appropriate set of test criteria, using either internally developed or industry-accepted standards. Products that pass these tests are awarded the prestigious Verified by VeriTest logo, which provides a compatibility statement backed by the VeriTest reputation for high-quality, standards-based testing.

The Stratus ftServer 5200 and ftServer 3200 models combine low-cost, continuous availability with the advantages of a small footprint. These Intel processor-based servers provide business-critical applications with the advantages of hardware fault tolerance, software availability and integrated service technology.

"The success of Stratus' Verified by VeriTest program demonstrates the value of our certification programs for organizations that are committed to enhancing ROI and providing customers with complete confidence in the reliability and integrity of their applications," said Ed Adams, vice president, VeriTest. "Hardware and software vendors continue to rely on VeriTest to develop certification programs that increase quality, value and visibility."
