VeriTest Selected for Novell SUSE® LINUX YES Certification Program
Novell Partners to Become "YES CERTIFIED" on SUSE® LINUX through VeriTest
Waltham, Mass. — February 17, 2005 — Lionbridge (Nasdaq: LIOX) today announced that its VeriTest testing division has been named a YES CERTIFIED testing provider for the Novell SUSE LINUX platform. With the new agreement, Novell partners can work with VeriTest to validate that their systems, drivers, storage products, network products, and applications meet specific performance requirements in order to gain the YES certification with SUSE LINUX.
Novell has more than 560 technology partners many supporting SUSE LINUX. Partners that earn the Novell YES CERTIFIED designation for their Linux solutions will be able to quickly and confidently show CIO's and IT Managers that their solution has been independently proven to meet Novell's product compatibility standards.
VeriTest is the only Novell Authorized Testing Center ("NATC") in Europe, where many of Novell's development partners are located, and has been testing products for Novell's independent software and hardware partners developing solutions on NetWare for several years. During that time, Novell awarded VeriTest the "NATC of the Year Award" two years in a row. By adding SUSE LINUX to the suite of offerings, VeriTest is able to serve Novell's growing number of ISVs and IHVs developing solutions on the SUSE LINUX platform.
"Novell places a very high value on our development partners, so it's crucial to us that they have a positive experience when getting their solution tested for the YES CERTIFIED program," said Hal Bennett, VP Business Development, Novell. "VeriTest has a strong proven track record for serving our customers with the same level of high-quality service we would expect. We asked VeriTest to add SUSE LINUX to their menu of YES CERTIFIED testing services so that our Linux ISVs and IHVs will benefit from having the testing conducted by one of the leading product testing vendors in the world."
The new certification program at VeriTest will help drive new business for Novell's solutions provider, hardware and software partners, and will provide new options for partners to engage with Novell. In addition, end-users can be assured that both the product vendor and Novell are committed to supporting all products which display the YES CERTIFIED mark.
"As Linux expands throughout global markets, VeriTest test labs throughout the US, Europe and Asia will play a key role in helping ISVs achieve SUSE LINUX certification," said Rory Cowan, CEO, Lionbridge. "This certification program allows Novell to give ISVs a technical roadmap for ensuring their products perform correctly on the platform, while providing industry-proven evidence of their commitment to customer satisfaction."
