VeriTest Selected for SAP NetWeaver Certification Testing
VeriTest to Certify Third-Party Solutions for SAP
Waltham, Mass. — March 1, 2005 — Lionbridge (Nasdaq: LIOX), today announced that its VeriTest testing division has been chosen by SAP AG, the world's leading provider of business software solutions, as a testing provider for the most frequented integration scenarios within the SAP NetWeaver™ platform. With the agreement, VeriTest will test J2EE-applications and Business Packages from the SAP independent software vendor (ISV) community to validate that the deployments of these solutions meet the criteria to gain the "Certified for SAP NetWeaver," and ultimately the "Powered by SAP NetWeaver" designation.
"According to surveys of CTOs across the globe, robust catalogs of tested and qualified third-party applications are essential prerequisites for the widespread adoption of software platforms," said Satish Maripuri, Chief Operating Officer, Lionbridge "The additional certifications through VeriTest allow CIOs and other enterprise IT decision makers to choose from a larger selection of products that carry for example the "Powered by SAP NetWeaver" designation which will provide them with a fully integrated solution. SAP's selection of VeriTest for this rapidly growing community underscores our position as the leader in certification and testing for the world's most critical business applications."
The SAP NetWeaver related certification program was launched by SAP to highlight third-party solutions that take advantage of SAP NetWeaver as their underlying technology platform to help lower Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for SAP customers. Meanwhile over 700 "Certified for SAP NetWeaver" and over 100 "Powered by SAP NetWeaver" third-party solutions have been certified by the SAP Integration and Certification Centers (ICCs) for their easy integration with SAP NetWeaver. The certification program is run by the ICCs and will now be expanded through the additional test and support capacity offered by Lionbridge VeriTest.
"The professional services of VeriTest will help SAP to further deliver critical mass of trusted, third-party applications in support of SAP NetWeaver to enterprises across the globe," said Karl-Heinz Hess, Senior Vice President Active Global Support, SAP. "With VeriTest's proven track-record and industry reputation, we are delighted to have the team onboard as a certification testing provider, helping to handle the increased demand for solutions certified for integration with SAP NetWeaver."
ISVs that participate in the SAP NetWeaver initiative enjoy increased market exposure to SAP customers through use of distinctive SAP branding, expanded market presence through association with SAP marketing and promotional activities, and inclusion in SAP NetWeaver Web sites.
