Novell "YES Certified" for SUSE LINUX and NetWare
Instructions for Software Testing
Follow these steps to obtain Novell YES certification for your application. Testing turnaround time is 10 business days or less.

- Submit Your Application to VeriTest for Testing

1. Make Sure Your Application Meets Novell's Requirements
Review the Compatibility Criteria document (available on our Resources page) prior to submitting your application for testing.

2. Register for Testing at VeriTest
Email NovellYes@veritest.com when you are ready to register for testing. Be sure to record the Tracking Number we provide you during the registration process, as you will use this number when you send in your application, and in all correspondence. We will gather registration details from you via our registration form, and strongly suggest that you print the form and circulate it in your workgroup before beginning the process of filling it in and sending it. Please answer all the questions fully and clearly.

3. Join Novell PartnerNet
Joining the Novell PartnerNet provides you with access to the information, tools, support and resources you need to leverage Novell's directory-powered products and technologies. It may be necessary to create a Novell Login Profile account. This one account maintains passwords for most areas of the Novell website. However, you will still be required to register as a Novell PartnerNet member. Silver-level partnership should meet the requirements of most ISV/IHVs. Towards the end of the PartnerNet application, in the 'Promo Code' field enter "GET_YES_CERTIFIED" to receive a 6-month free membership with PartnerNet.

4. Complete the Necessary Forms
Complete the following documents (available on our Resources page) and submit via e-mail attachment to NovellYes@veritest.com

5. Submit Your Application to VeriTest for Testing
Send us the software and support materials to be tested, as explained below:
SUSE LINUX Applications:
- Shipping product (fully licensed – no demo copies or evaluation versions).
- Test Plan stating the method(s) used to test the application on SLES9.
- Any dependent (non-standard) software or hardware as needed.
NetWare Applications:
Client
- Shipping product (fully licensed – no demo copies or evaluation versions)
- Testing scripts or procedures, if available
- Any dependent (non-standard) software or hardware as needed
NLM
- Shipping product
- Novell Debug NLMs for all NLM components (or MAP files)
- A document which describes how to setup and exercise (test) the product
- Any dependent (non-standard) software or hardware as needed
Backup Applications
- Client
- Shipping product
- Testing scripts or procedures, if available
- Any dependent (non-standard) software or hardware as needed
- NLM
- Shipping product
- Novell Debug NLMs for all NLM components (or MAP files if only testing on NetWare 5)
- Any dependent (non-standard) software or hardware, as needed
If you are sending multiple products simultaneously, please clearly indicate that this is the case, and bundle all materials for each product separately. Please do not ship any partial packages.
Other Supporting Materials:
All items listed below must be included for the test process to begin. Please write the Tracking Number you receive during the VeriTest online registration on all media sent in for testing and on your Testing Agreement or Addendum. Please use this number in all correspondence.
- A stable, fully-functional shipping candidate of your software product on the media on which you intend to distribute it, along with any necessary passwords or registration numbers and any necessary hardware locks.
- Completed Software Statement of Work
- A signed hard copy of the VeriTest "Novell YES" Master Testing Agreement.

You will receive a fax/e-mail confirmation from VeriTest upon receipt of your package. This confirmation will be sent to the person listed as the Primary Contact on your VeriTest online registration form. Your product will be put into the testing queue the following business day.

6. Obtain Your Test Results
- You will receive a notification when VeriTest submits the test results to Novell. This is generally 4 to 8 business days following the receipt of your complete package. Because of the testing techniques used, interim results are not available. Address questions to NovellYes@veritest.com.
- Novell will issue a preliminary bulletin for review. The person you designated as the Primary contact in your Vendor Questionnaire will be contacted by VeriTest for final approval of the bulletin. Any changes that need to be made to the bulletin must be reported to VeriTest within 5 business days. If no response is made within this period the bulletin will be posted as is. Important: Please refer to the Novell Web site for Logo Usage.
