Works with Windows Server 2008

The “Works with Windows Server 2008” program is intended to help developers and customers ensure that applications meet the baseline technical bar for compatibility with Windows Server 2008.

This is a new type of program, where Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) test their applications themselves, and submit their test results for independent verification. You do not send us your software, only your results of your test of your product. You need to test your software using a methodology defined by Microsoft with tools available from Microsoft. The main tool that is used for testing, the “Works With” tool, generates the test report and log files that you need to submit to VeriTest for verification.

  2. Ensure your application meets Microsoft's requirements

Review the test report created by Microsoft’s “Works With” Tool to verify your product passes testing for all test cases.

Waivers are required for test reports that include “Fail” or “Undetermined” test results for test cases. Microsoft may occasionally grant limited waivers for specific test requirements on a case-by-case basis.  ISVs seeking waivers must justify the need for a waiver, document the application’s behavior and impact on users, and agree to publish the information conspicuously for customers prior to installation.
