Certified for Microsoft Dynamics®
Upgrading Certification

 

What is it?

When your solution has previously achieved the Certified for Microsoft Dynamics accreditation but a newer version of the test is available, we encourage you to upgrade the CfMD accreditation on the newer test, in order to offer the most up-to-date technology for your customers. For example, if your solution has earned the certification on Microsoft Dynamics NAV 5.0 before, now that Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 is available, we suggest that you upgrade the certification on Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009. Please note that Certified for Microsoft Dynamics solutions on Microsoft Dynamics NAV 5.0 or AX 4.0 will not be included in certain Microsoft marketing tools, such as the Business Solutions catalog or the Partner-to-Partner Connections page in countries where the 2009 versions are already available.

Pricing

Normally, the regular testing and certification fees apply. However, we are offering a discounted $3100 price for Certified for Microsoft Dynamics upgrades when no new customer references need to be validated. For example, if a partner is upgrading from  Microsoft Dynamics NAV 5.0 to NAV 2009 and all of their existing customer references are on Microsoft Dynamics NAV 5.0, they can all be reused for the upgrade, therefore they don't need to be revalidated and the discounted fee applies. However, if any of the references are on Microsoft Dynamics NAV 4.0, they are not valid for the upgrade and new customer references need to be provided on NAV 5.0 or NAV 2009. In this case, the full fee of $3500 needs to be paid. This discount only applies to Certified for Microsoft Dynamics (CfMD) upgrades. If the solution has only been tested on an older platform before and the partner wants to test again on a newer version without committing to CfMD, the full fee needs to be paid.

What are the requirements?

Your solution will need to fulfill the following requirements:

  1. Software Solution Test
    Need to test compatibility of your solution with the Dynamics product again.
  2. Customer Evidences
    Need to secure 10 customer evidences. We have revised the rules (see third bullet point), in order to make sure that Early Adopter ISV partners are not at a disadvantage when upgrading their certification. Customer references will be accepted on:

      • The most recently released version (for example Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009)

      • The previously released version (for example Microsoft Dynamics NAV 5.0)

      • The third version prior for a period of six months following the general availability of the most recently released version in the specific country. If you have not completed the process of upgrading the certification by the end of the 6-months period, customer references on the third version prior will become invalid. If your solution has already earned the upgraded certification by the end of the 6-months period, your customer references will not be impacted.

  3. Gold Certified Status
    No need to achieve it again as it is company-specific, however your company still needs to be a Gold Certified Partner when validating the requirements for the upgraded certification.

  4. Partner Service Plan
    No need to sign-up again as it is company-specific, however your plan must be valid when your customer evidences are validated for the upgraded certification.
