Along with his operations responsibilities, as a digital marketing expert, Sergio provides sales support for Lionbridge Global Marketing Services. In 2007, he founded Darwin Zone, a Costa Rican-based digital marketing agency acquired by Lionbridge in 2014. There, he designed and implemented strategies for global brands including Nestle, 3M, New Balance, SABMiller, Honda, and Johnson & Johnson, among others.
Sergio also has experience in decoupling strategies for digital marketing services with creative agencies such as DDB, McCann, Ogilvy, and Starcom. He’s certified in Google AdWords and DoubleClick products, and in paid media sales by the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB). A certified project management professional through the Project Management Institute (PMI), Sergio is currently pursuing marketing automation and SalesForce CRM certification.
When not busy learning, advising, or traveling, you can find Sergio teaching in the Digital Marketing Lab, a program he created at INCAE, Latin America’s top business school—where he is also an associate professor. Sergio holds an MBA from IE Business School in Madrid, as well as digital marketing and social strategy certificates from Harvard Business School.
