Video Production & Localization

For multinational companies, it’s increasingly important to produce and localize customized video content that resonates with local cultures.

Engage Global Audiences with Video Production and Localization

Pushing video around the globe to multiple destinations can be a real challenge of both logistics and linguistics. Working with multiple vendors in different markets is costly. And in the long run, it can dilute the essence of an idea.

What resonates in one country may not work in another. Your vendor must be aware of these cultural nuances and advise you how to adapt your message so that it works well everywhere.

From ideation to delivery—or at any point in between—Lionbridge can produce local-centric videos that will successfully communicate your message within specific locales. We do this efficiently and cost-effectively—without a lot of re-editing, which saves you money.

Throughout the process, you’ll get global consistency, local engagement, and linguistic expertise.

Global Video Translation and Localization Services

Ensure your video content resonates across locales and channels with Lionbridge's transcreation, global expertise, and local market knowledge.

Let us help you with:

  • Dubbing: If you have the original video source files with a separate voice-over (VO) track, we’ll professionally re-record the VO in the localized target language. Our services will then simply replace the source-language audio track with the target-language translation in the original video file.
  • Subtitles: If your video includes people speaking on screen, it’s sometimes faster and less expensive to use subtitles. We’ll localize your subtitles so that they cover the corresponding audio/visual content within the allotted time, which can be important for delivering on time and on budget.
  • Voice-overs: Voice-over is another localization option we offer for videos which show people speaking on screen. With this technique, the volume of the source-language audio track is simply faded back and a louder, target-language track is laid over it.
  • Graphic text: If your video includes on-screen text, graphics with overlaid text, animated text, or text elements in animations, we can remove the original text or graphic elements, localize them, and then re-create and replace them in your target-language video.

Video Production and Localization: Case Study

A large technology company wanted to create a playlist of 12 support videos for one of its lines of smartphones. The videos would live on a support YouTube channel that users could access if they had questions. The challenge was producing globally-relevant content and localizing it into 11 other markets outside the United States in a cost-efficient way.

We assigned a dedicated content creation team, including a copywriter and motion graphic designers, to create source video templates that could economically be adapted for localization across the 11 other markets. We provided:

  • Script writing
  • Storyboarding
  • Motion Graphic Design
  • Editing
  • Post-production
  • Video Localization

The end-to-end video production process resulted in lower costs due to the templatization process. Also, because creation and localization tasks were handled simultaneously, there was a quicker turnaround-time for the entire slate of videos.
