In this installation of our Meet the Pride Series, meet Ben K., a life sciences account manager at Lionbridge. He enjoys helping pharmaceutical companies find safe, responsible ways to implement AI into their workflows. He also supports Veeva integration solutions, which help us deliver faster translation solutions to meet tight regulatory timelines.
I’m an enterprise account executive within our life sciences business unit. I help manage and grow existing relationships with top life science organizations.
I went to college at a small school in Wisconsin. It just so happened that a language service provider was headquartered in this small town. They attended all of the career fairs and school events for local businesses. I became familiar with the company and worked there as a project manager for three years, where I found my way into the industry before moving to Lionbridge.
I enjoy solving complex problems for complex organizations. I love bringing new technology and solutions to these organizations to help reduce some of the challenges they face every day.
I work with teams worldwide. My day starts early, with calls right away. My mornings are usually full of client meetings where we discuss ongoing projects or upcoming initiatives. Or I have internal meetings about professional development or service-offering trainings for our clients. My afternoons are typically filled with tasks and follow-up items from those morning meetings.
In October, I celebrated 5 years with Lionbridge. When I joined, the language space was just getting comfortable with neural machine translation and focusing on scaling with people and technology. As AI hit, it was exciting to be part of a leading language services organization. We offer the people, power, and technology expertise to implement AI quickly and effectively. Our industry has seen a lot of turmoil over the years, but we’ve navigated it and adapted admirably.
I’ve been assisting a top pharma customer with multiple Veeva Vault integrations over the past year. This project has been part of a larger program to help the customer centralize and standardize their localization strategy. We focused heavily on consolidation of vendors and streamlined processes. It’s been rewarding to help them successfully implement technology into their localization workflows while also building relationships across their organization.
Most top life science organizations have Veeva somewhere in their business for document management purposes. It's critically important to have proper version control and oversight for documents that require regulatory approval. A direct integration with Veeva Vault Libraries lets document owners work within their environment. They also don’t need to worry about versioning with their translated copy. Veeva integrations streamline the process for document owners and reduce the risk of human error after a translation is returned. Additionally, Veeva integrations require one less portal to log in. The impact is most felt as turnaround-time pressures increase. With Veeva integration solutions, we can deliver faster translations to meet those timeline pressures.
I’m looking forward to building my expertise and experience in bringing Veeva integrations to life sciences organizations. I’ve found through the Veeva R&D Summit (in October) that there isn’t a lot of awareness of LSP integrations into the Veeva Vault platform. I plan on emphasizing this with all my clients in the coming year.
For the past year or so, my wife and I have been remodeling our house, trying to figure it out on our own. I also try to go back home on a few trips to Minnesota/Wisconsin every year. While I’m up there, I try to sneak away for some fishing or just spend as much time outside as I can.
