Ingredients:

  • 500g ground poppy seeds
  • 1500ml milk
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 8tbsp honey
  • 100g raisins
  • 100g chopped almonds 

 

Ingredients, Additional:

  • In addition, 200g rusk
  • 2 tbsp shredded coconut for garnish

 

Instructions:

For the poppy seed mixture, bring milk and butter to a boil. Sprinkle in the poppy seeds while stirring. Then add honey, raisins, and almonds. Continue to simmer over medium heat for about 15 minutes. Stir again and again. The poppy seed mixture should have the consistency of a pudding. Layer the poppy seed mixture alternately with the rusks in a large glass bowl or glasses. Start and end with the poppy seed mixture.

Garnish with coconut flakes if desired and cover and place in the refrigerator to infuse for at least 2 hours, preferably overnight.

The Makówki will keep refrigerated for at least a week.
