Tell us about your role at Lionbridge.

I'm a sourcing specialist based in Poland. I have 13 years of experience in community management and localization project management. I’ve worked with Lionbridge’s Community Management Sourcing Team since the spring of 2021. My current responsibilities include recruiting, onboarding, and supporting translation partners for Polish, Hungarian, French (both France and Canada), English (UK), and Dutch. I cover a range of domains, including finance, legal, LS, military, government, gaming, automotive, sports marketing, and more.

What do you enjoy most about your role?

My role allows me to connect with people from all over the world. In the CM Sourcing Team, I recruit, onboard, and support partners across various languages and cultures. This gives me the opportunity to build an extensive global network of linguists, translators, and localization experts. I'm lucky to be part of a great team that truly collaborates. We support each other and can always rely on one another.

What does a typical workday look like for you?

My typical workday begins with reviewing requests on our new Sourcing Dashboard. I check its requirements, urgency, and the number of partners needed for each specific account. This information helps me prioritize tasks and plan my workload. When there's a new request, I dive deeper by consulting with the account owner. I look in our database and consider existing partners. I may also post an ad on LinkedIn, Proz, TranslatorsCafe, and other translation portals. Once I recognize a suitable candidate, I follow our standard onboarding process.

What excites you the most about sourcing linguists, SMEs, interpreters, etc.?

Most recruitment requests are quite complex and challenging, so we have to dive deep into specific experiences. I learn more about new markets, languages, cultures - especially those involving rare languages. I've worked on expanding our pool for languages like Pulaar, Sardinian, and Ladin. These projects are exciting because they often require research and connecting with universities and associations.

Collaborating with linguists and local experts gives us fascinating insights into cultural nuances and preferences. Each request’s variety and unique requirements keep the job interesting and challenging. Every day is a new adventure.

Why is this work important?

I believe CM Sourcing is crucial for the company's success. By selecting the best partners to deliver high-quality translations and other services, we directly contribute to the company’s reputation and customer satisfaction.

How long have you been at Lionbridge? How have you seen the company evolve over that time?

I've been with Lionbridge for almost five years. I've seen the company evolve significantly, especially with the rise of AI. We've integrated AI into our services, improving efficiency and offering more tailored solutions. We strive to stay ahead of our competitors, especially in AI development.

How did you get into your role at Lionbridge?

After my maternity leave, I began exploring new career opportunities. I got into my role at Lionbridge through an employee referral program. It turned out to be a perfect match for me.

Tell us about your interests outside of work.

Outside of work, I love spending time outdoors, especially walking with my daughters and our dog. We enjoy activities like biking and roller skating. When we have more time, we often take trips to explore new places, both in Poland and abroad. My family and I really enjoy being close to nature. To go on more adventures, we invested in a roof tent and a 4x4 car. This setup lets us travel independently. No need to book accommodations in advance. It gives us the flexibility to change our plans in case of bad weather. Two years ago, we traveled to Albania. Last summer, we explored Montenegro. This way of traveling lets us reach distant, wild places, experience breathtaking views, and meet local people.

In addition to our outdoor activities, I enjoy sewing with my daughters after work. They are very creative and eager to learn new things and techniques. Since we love dogs, we sew matching scrunchies and dog bandanas from the same fabric, creating matchy-matchy sets. It’s a fun family project.
