Meet the Pride: Erik H.

Lionbridge Senior Director, AI Solutions

In this installation of our Meet the Pride Series, meet Erik H., Senior Director of AI Solutions. Erik loves helping organizations turn ambitious AI ideas into real-world solutions. With more than a decade of experience across enterprise technology, localization, and AI data services, he enjoys tackling complex challenges, building scalable systems, and helping customers move from "What if?" to "Let's build it."

Tell us about your role at Lionbridge.

I've always enjoyed taking complicated problems and making them simpler. That's really what my role is all about. I work with customers to understand where they're trying to go with AI. Then I help design the data, workflows, and operational approach that will get them there. Every engagement is different, and that's one of the things I enjoy most. No two customers are trying to solve exactly the same problem.

I'm also passionate about improving how we work internally. As AI continues to evolve, there's a huge opportunity to build smarter, more repeatable ways of delivering great work. I want to enable our teams to spend more time solving problems and less time reinventing the process.

What do you enjoy most about your role?

I love walking into problems where nobody has the full answer yet. Those conversations are where the best ideas usually come from. Everyone brings a different perspective. Somewhere along the way, you discover a solution that wouldn't have happened without that collaboration.

I'm also naturally curious. AI changes incredibly fast, and every project teaches me something new. Whether it's exploring a new use case, designing a different evaluation approach, or finding a better way to solve a challenge. There's always something new to learn.

What does a typical workday look like for you?

No two days are exactly alike, and I wouldn't want them to be. One morning, I might be working with engineering, operations, and sourcing teams to design a multilingual data program. Later that afternoon, I could meet with a customer to review solution designs or look for ways to improve an internal process. The common thread is helping people connect the dots. I spend a lot of time translating ideas between customers, technical teams, and operations. Everyone needs to be working toward the same goal.

How long have you been working in AI data services? What has your career progression been?

I've spent more than a decade in enterprise technology, with the last several years focused on AI data services. Looking back, every role I've had prepared me for this one. I've worked in sales, solution architecture, and strategy. Each experience taught me something different about how organizations solve problems. One thing has stayed consistent throughout my career: I enjoy building systems that make complicated work simpler. AI happens to be one of the most exciting places to do that.

How have you seen our AI data services expand in your time at Lionbridge?

The pace of change has been incredible. When I first started working in AI data services, many organizations were still exploring what AI could do. Today, they're building it directly into the products and services people use every day. That has created a growing need for better data, stronger evaluation methods, multilingual expertise, and the ability to deliver consistently at scale.

It's been exciting to watch Lionbridge grow alongside that demand. We’re expanding our AI capabilities and building on decades of language expertise. Every year brings new challenges. That's part of what makes this industry so rewarding.

What is the most exciting opportunity on the horizon for Lionbridge AI data services?

I think we're still in the early chapters of AI. Every week brings new ideas, new capabilities, and new ways organizations can use AI to solve real business problems. One of the biggest opportunities for Lionbridge is helping customers build AI programs that continue improving over time. High-quality data, thoughtful evaluation, and scalable operations all play an important role in making that possible.

I'm just as excited about how we use AI ourselves. There are countless opportunities to streamline the way we work, automate repetitive tasks, and give our teams more time to focus on solving meaningful problems for customers.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

My wife and I have five kids, so life outside of work is rarely quiet. I wouldn't have it any other way. We spend a lot of time traveling together, exploring national landmarks, and finding ways to help our kids learn about history, faith, and the world around them. Those shared experiences, big and small, are what keep me grounded.

I'm curious by nature, so I don't leave that mindset at work. I enjoy reading about AI, experimenting with new technology, and building systems that make everyday life a little easier. That same mindset shows up when I'm planning a family trip or working through an AI challenge. I like finding ways to simplify things and make them work better.
