Find yourself searching for cumbersome equipment to provide language access for your patients with Limited English Proficiency (LEP)? Bogged down by complicated menus, processes, and technologies that fail you? Frustrated by long interpretation connection times? Put these headaches behind you with interpretation integration.
LionbridgeLink, our on-demand interpretation solution, offers an infinitely better way to access healthcare interpretation services by launching an interpreter directly from within the patient's Electronic Health Record (EHR) in Epic, without leaving your workflow.
Watch the LionbridgeLink demo to see how easy it is to connect with a qualified interpreter for on-demand interpretation services.
In addition to using LionbridgeLink to connect to Epic as shown in the demo, you may use it to connect to mobile devices and some other apps.
As shown in the demo, launching a healthcare interpreter directly from the patient record is simple.
The patient and doctor names, along with other pertinent information, are prepopulated, depending on the configuration. All you need to do is complete the customized workflow fields, including your preferred language and modality (audio or video), then click submit. It’s that easy.
When the call ends, you’ll receive a call summary and be able to rate the call for quality assurance.
LionbridgeLink can help shift your organization’s culture from viewing language access as a compliance requirement to treating it as an essential part of care, integrated throughout the patient’s healthcare journey.
It will help you reduce fragmentation, promote staff awareness of how to provide meaningful language access, and ultimately enhance patient experience.
LionbridgeLink is suitable for both in-person and telehealth visits across any healthcare setting, including emergency care, behavioral health, and outpatient services. Here are some of its key features.
Privacy and compliance are central to our integration solution. HIPAA-compliant interpretation workflows are used, and because LionbridgeLink does not record interpretation sessions, Protected Health Information (PHI) is neither captured nor stored.
Our solution provides audio interpretation in more than 380 languages and video remote interpretation in 11 languages, with additional languages being added. If video is unavailable, the integration seamlessly transitions to audio within the same call. The solution serves a diverse patient population, including those who speak rare and indigenous languages and those who are deaf or hard of hearing.
When you connect on demand with our interpreters, you can rest assured that they are highly trained and specialized in healthcare, supporting accurate and comprehensive conversations across all clinical specialties. Plus, our medical interpreters are trained in HIPAA requirements to safeguard patient privacy and comply with federal standards.
With our easy-to-use interface, we’re confident you’ll be self-sufficient. But if you encounter an issue or have a question, we’re here for you. Get immediate help from our industry-leading customer service team.
Regulatory requirements strongly support language access, including Title VI of the Civil Rights Act and Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act, both of which address the issue. Recent updates, such as telehealth guidance in the Supporting Patient Education and Knowledge (SPEAK) Act of 2025 and the Joint Commission standards, further underscore language access as a critical measure of patient safety and quality.
