What do you like most about being a part of the Lionbridge Community?

It's exciting to be part of a community that shares the same commitment to quality and excellence. It makes me feel confident that I have a team to reach out to for support.

How did you get into this field?

I started working as a proofreader in a computer book publisher. Shortly after, I became a translator, and then I joined a localization agency as a language specialist.

Describe a day in the life of a Lionbridge partner.

Deadlines are always tight, and I work on projects from different time zones, so I need to wake up early and stick to my schedule.

What advice would you give your younger self if they were just starting out in this field?

If you want to expand your knowledge, grow as a teammate, and meet interesting people, you are on the right track.

What is your favorite food and why?

I enjoy cooking. It is a hobby and a stress reliever to me, so my favorite food is any homemade food, especially when made with friends and family.

How many languages do you speak, and do you want to learn a new one?

I speak Portuguese, my mother language, and English. I have also learned basic Spanish and French, which I'd like to have more time to improve.

What is your favorite word or phrase in your native language and why is it your favorite?

"Gentileza gera gentileza." It's a famous quote from a popular urban personality in Brazil, and the literal translation is "Kindness generates kindness." The phrase is simple but meaningful in many ways.

What, in your opinion, makes your field special?

Despite the daily challenges, I enjoy the opportunity to learn about diverse cultures, meet people from all over the world, work from wherever I am, and, most importantly, learn new things all the time.
