Meet Jacques B., a French Subject Matter Expert living in Belgium. He has a Ph.D in pharmacology and has been a part of the Lionbridge Community for more than 18 years. He has work on many translation, clinical review, cognitive debriefing and label validation projects. Read on to find out more about Jacques.
What do you like most about being a part of the Lionbridge Community?
I enjoy contributing to the delivery of excellent translations.
How did you get into this field?
I have been a medical writer in English and French since 2002. Participating in the review of scientific texts translated from English to French aligned with my interests.
Tell us about some of your hobbies and interests.
I like traveling, cooking and reading.
How many languages do you speak?
I speak four languages, namely French, English, Dutch and Italian.
What is your favorite word or phrase in your native language and why is it your favorite?
Le travail c'est la santé. It means work is health. It's my favorite because I think working makes people better.
What is your favorite food and why?
My favorite food is seafood.
What do you like most about the country you live in?
In Belgium, people are friendly and simple and the food is excellent.
What country would you like to travel to and why?
I would like to visit Italy, Norway, Sweden and Finland.
What is the coolest language task you’ve participated in?
Cognitive debriefing projects.
