Meet Account Executive Nicole Barker

Name: Nicole Barker

Nicole Barker Lionbridge

Hometown/Lionbridge Office:

Berlin, Germany

Job Title:

Account Executive

How long have you been at Lionbridge?

I’ve been at Lionbridge since 2016. I started as a Key Account Manager at CLS Communication, which is now part of the big Lionbridge family.

What does a typical work day look like for you?

My typical work day starts at 8am with a cup of fine English tea and my email inbox. After I’ve checked all new items I usually make or amend my schedule for the day and then get started. During the day I talk to my clients about ongoing or future projects. Not to forget all the admin work J. My job brings me in contact with lots of different departments within Lionbridge, which is always interesting.

What is your favorite place in your office?

Definitely my desk. I sit amidst most of the project managers who take care of my clients on a daily basis. So I get it all first-hand: the highs and the lows, and I appreciate the immediate feedback about my clients.

What is the best part of your job?

Other than the daily exchange with interesting people inside and outside of Lionbridge, I love the work time and place flexibility I have as a working mum.

Fill in the blanks:

I speak 4 language (list them!)

German, English, French, and Spanish

My favorite local saying is...

"Stop starting, start finishing."

A tourist visiting my city shouldn’t miss…

Our Berlin office for a nice cup of tea or coffee with me and the team. Other than that—it’s Berlin. You’ll find things to do. :)

My coworkers would say my weirdest habit is…

Apparently I eat a lot.

Outside of work, I always make time for...

My 2-year old daughter, my husband, and my horse.

The best piece of career advice I've ever received is...

To be authentic and honest. And that’s true for all parts of life, really.

My hidden talent is...

Reining (a horse-riding discipline).

Winning people's trust makes me roar.
