How long have you been at Lionbridge?
Going on 10 years
What does a typical work day look like for you?
Morning meetings with our India and Warsaw production teams. Emails and meetings with customers. Mid-day office banter and meetings, more emails. Afternoon/evening meetings with China. Did I mention emails? Emails.
What is your favorite place in your office?
The whole office is pretty slick since the remodel, but the meeting rooms and in particular the espresso machine are among my favorite spots.
What is the best part of your job?
All my local and international colleagues at Lionbridge. So many smart and interesting individuals from around the globe, each with unique stories and backgrounds but all with a common purpose, language, and professional culture.
Fill in the blanks:
I speak 5 language (list them!)
Danish, English, Spanish, (some) French, (some) Russian.
My favorite local saying is…
“Rød grød med fløde,” and it means “red porridge with cream.” The ultimate tongue twister for non-Danish speakers.
A tourist visiting my city shouldn’t miss…
Mount Rainier and all the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest.
My coworkers would say my weirdest habit is…
Talking to myself, though I’m not sure they’ve noticed…
Outside of work, I always make time for…
Playing and recording music. I’m a guitarist in 3 bands and have recorded 10 records and counting. This is my moonlight occupation. 😊
The best piece of career advice I’ve ever received is…
“Genius is 99% perspiration and 1% inspiration.” Not that we have to aspire to be geniuses, but there is no foregoing hard work if you want to do something exceptional!
My hidden talent is…
Maximizing our collective potential makes me roar.
